The Magic Hand Mill

By 김지혜 Jihye Kim, Class

Once there was a king who ruled a kingdom. The king always used a magic hand mill. If the kingdom was poor, he said ‘Come out gold’. So gold would come out constantly. And if there was drought, he said ‘Come out water’. So water would come out constantly. One day a thief heard the story of the magic hand mill. So he planned to go to the kingdom to steal the magic hand mill. Then he stole it and ran away. On the boat, he said ‘Come out salt’. So the salt came out constantly but he couldn’t stop it. There was a lot of salt on the boat so it sank with him. The magic mill is still grinding in the sea. This is why the sea is salty.
